Court Invalidates Ebonyi State Local Government Elections; State Increases Civil Servant Wages

The court in Ebonyi State has nullified the local government council elections held in July 2024, citing non-compliance with electoral laws. The judgment declared the entire electoral process invalid and directed the outcomes to be set aside.

The state government also announced a wage increase for civil servants. Notably, the ruling dissolved existing local government administrations.

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru expressed gratitude for restoring peace in troubled communities.
