Court Declares Arobo APC Candidate for Owo/Ose Constituency

On Wednesday, the Federal High Court in Abuja ruled against Timehin Adeleye, the current representative for the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency of Ondo State, declaring him ineligible as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate. The court recognized Abdugani Arobo as the legitimate candidate after he challenged the APC's National Working Committee's (NWC) decision that had initially included Adeleye's name among candidates submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Justice Peter Lifu stated that the APC failed to make a lawful return, citing inconsistencies in their evidence. Arobo was declared the winner of the primary election held on May 16, 2026, where he garnered 7,959 votes in Owo Local Government Area and 2,583 votes in Ose Local Government Area.

The court ordered that Arobo's name be forwarded to INEC as the nominated candidate and issued a perpetual injunction against recognizing any other candidate for the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency election scheduled for 2027.
