Gbolagade Claims Victory in APC Oluyole Reps Primary

Abiodun Gbolagade has asserted that he won the All Progressives Congress (APC) Oluyole Reps primary election and is pursuing legal action to restore what he describes as his rightful mandate. Gbolagade addressed journalists in Ibadan, stating that he approached the Federal High Court after alleging that the primary election results were wrongfully declared in favor of incumbent lawmaker Tolulop Akand.

He claims that the primary was conducted as a direct election in accordance with the Electoral Act and party guidelines, with Gbolagade reportedly receiving 2,315 votes compared to Akand's 33 votes. Gbolagade has filed a case in the Federal High Court, which is set to be heard soon.

He expressed confidence in the judiciary to resolve the dispute, emphasizing that the outcome of the primary should reflect the wishes of APC members in the Oluyole federal constituency. Gbolagade dismissed claims that he would defect from the APC and stated that the party is preparing for the general elections.
