Pastor Arrested for Allegedly Flogging Girl to Death

Pastor Nanci Peter was arrested in Cross River State for allegedly flogging a teenage girl to death. The incident occurred in Obanleku, Boki Local Government Area, after the girl reportedly confessed to stealing N30,000 from her mother.

On June 1, the mother took her daughter to the pastor's residence for counsel. Following the confession, the pastor allegedly administered between 13 to 15 strokes with a horsewhip.

After the beating, the girl was found weak and was taken to a medical facility, where she was pronounced dead. The girl's mother had previously complained about repeated theft incidents involving the pastor.

The police confirmed the arrest of the suspect and have begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic death, which has raised concerns about the treatment of children in the community.
