Woman Found Dead in Church Toilet in Calabar

Bless Ayeb was discovered dead inside a church toilet in the Ikot Ansa area of Calabar, Cross River State, around 9 PM on Monday, following her disappearance. Her family raised the alarm on July 1, after she failed to return home from a church service she attended on June 28.

Peac Ayeb, her daughter, reported her mother missing to the Federal Housing Police Station in Calabar. ASP Sundai Eitokpah, the Cross River State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident and stated that the case is under investigation.

The deceased's body has been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy to determine the cause of death. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and there is no evidence of foul play.

The police have indicated that further developments will be communicated as the investigation continues.
