Customs Seize Military Uniforms and Drugs in Ogun State

On Sunday at around 1:30 AM, the Nigeria Customs Service, under the command of Oladapo Afeni, intercepted a luxury passenger bus in Ogun State that was allegedly evading security checkpoints. The bus, which had no registration plate, was found to be transporting military camouflage uniforms and illicit drugs, including 154 parcels of synthetic cannabis known as "Canadian loud" and seven parcels of "Colorado." Preliminary investigations revealed that the military uniforms were intended for unauthorized individuals, potentially for criminal activities.

The total street value of the seized items is estimated at N259 million. Two suspects were arrested in connection with the seizure.

Afeni emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering in combating cross-border crime and urged the public to report suspicious activities. The operation is part of a broader crackdown on smuggling and illegal activities in the region, with the Nigeria Customs Service remaining committed to ensuring that contraband does not fall into the hands of non-state actors.
