Nigerian Customs Service Announces Annual Recruitment Plan

The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has announced the final list of successful candidates for its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, selecting 3,852 applicants from a total of 573,680 applications received nationwide. This announcement was made by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, during a briefing in Abuja.

The successful candidates will fill positions in the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres, with representation from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Adeniyi stated that the NCS will now conduct recruitment annually, moving away from infrequent recruitment events.

The next recruitment exercise for 2026 is set to begin later this year and will be completed within the same calendar year. This new system aims to provide clarity for unsuccessful applicants regarding future recruitment timelines.

Adeniyi explained that the delays in the current recruitment cycle were due to the high volume of applications and the need for thorough screening processes, including computer-based tests and verification against the National Identity Database.
