Czech Republic Backs Morocco's Sahara Autonomy Plan

The Czech Republic has officially supported Morocco's autonomy plan for the Sahara region, describing it as a genuine and feasible solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue. This support was articulated in a joint declaration signed in Rabat following a meeting between Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Petr Macinka and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.

The declaration specifies that the Czech ambassador to Morocco will visit the Sahara region to prepare for Czech entrepreneurs' support of joint economic initiatives. Furthermore, the Czech Republic will extend its consular coverage to the Sahara, aligning its diplomatic stance with Morocco's sovereignty claims.

The Czech Republic's position is consistent with that of several European countries, including Belgium and Finland, which have also shown support for Morocco's autonomy plan.
