Dangote Cement Launches Multi-Million Naira Hospital in Kogi

On Friday, Dangote Cement PLC commissioned a multi-million naira hospital in Obajana, Kogi State, significantly boosting the local healthcare sector. The commissioning ceremony featured the conferment of traditional chieftaincy titles on several company officials, including Group Managing Director Arvind Pathak and Plant Director Azad Nawabuddin.

The new cottage hospital is designed to provide comprehensive primary and secondary healthcare services, addressing the community's healthcare needs identified through extensive consultations. It includes facilities such as male and female wards, private wards, consultation rooms, and essential medical infrastructure.

The project aims to reduce the burden on residents who previously traveled long distances for medical treatment. Dangote Cement has committed to investing in education and healthcare infrastructure across various communities, with additional projects planned, including an ICT center and vocational skill acquisition programs.

Local government officials, including Hon. Abdullahi Adamu, praised the hospital as a major intervention for improving healthcare access.
