Davido Critiques INEC for Election Result Delays

Davido, the Nigerian superstar, expressed his concerns regarding the delay in uploading election results to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) IReV portal. In a series of posts on his X account, he highlighted that as of 2:33 p.m., no results had been uploaded, questioning the delay and emphasizing the need for transparency.

He urged voters to remain at their polling units until their results were uploaded and to ensure that the figures were accurately entered on the electronic EC8A result form. Davido advised voters to photograph their polling unit result sheets and send them to a designated WhatsApp number, stressing the importance of protecting their votes.

Additionally, he recommended that election officials use the front camera on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) if the device's other camera was malfunctioning. His comments came amid reports of technical challenges with BVAS during the election, which is crucial for voter accreditation and other election-related functions.
