Oyo Commissioner Urges Asset Declaration for Public Officers

On Thursday, Oyo State Commissioner Akinola Ojo charged public officers on the necessity of asset declaration during a training session held at the Ministry of Finance's conference room in Ibadan. This training, organized in collaboration with the Code of Conduct Bureau, aimed to ensure transparency and proper use of public funds.

Ojo highlighted the critical nature of the asset declaration process, urging public officers to fill out their asset liability declaration forms accurately to avoid future complications. He noted that the Code of Conduct Bureau plays a vital role in promoting accountability and transparency in public service.

The training provided an opportunity for participants to gain a thorough understanding of the requirements set forth by the Bureau. Amao Bolaji, the state director of the Code of Conduct Bureau, reiterated that public officers must adhere to strict guidelines and rules in discharging their duties.

He emphasized that corruption extends beyond financial misappropriation to include unethical practices, urging compliance with the Bureau's mandates.
