APC Confident of Victory in Osun Despite Defections

Olatunbosun Oyintiloy, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted that recent defections from the party will not weaken its structure or affect its chances in the Osun gubernatorial election scheduled for August 15, 2026. Speaking to journalists in Osogbo, Oyintiloy described defections as a regular occurrence in politics, particularly during election periods, and insisted they pose no threat to the APC's readiness to reclaim power in Osun State.

He highlighted the party's robust grassroots structure, which spans wards, polling units, and local government areas, and emphasized that the APC is built on a solid foundation that has endured over decades. Former lawmaker Bola Oyebamiji, the APC's governorship candidate, was noted to significantly boost morale among party members and generate enthusiasm among voters.

Oyintiloy called for unity within the party and urged leadership to address member grievances to prevent further defections, stressing the importance of collective commitment to achieve victory.
