Abbas Tajudeen Advocates Youth Leadership Preparation

On Tuesday, Abbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, called for a deliberate effort to prepare young Nigerians for leadership positions. Speaking at the launch of the LEAD Fellowship organized by the Gender Mobile Initiative at the National Assembly in Abuja, he stated that the youth should not be seen merely as the leaders of tomorrow but as active participants in shaping Nigeria's future.

Represented by Hon Kafilat Ogbara, the chairman of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Tajudeen emphasized the importance of equipping the country's large youthful population with essential knowledge, ethical values, institutional exposure, and leadership skills. He remarked, “It is high time we prepared young people for power,” stressing that they must understand government operations and how to leverage political office to effect positive societal change.
