Delta State Convicts 17 for Environmental Offenses

The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency has arraigned 18 individuals for various environmental offenses, resulting in the conviction of 17 offenders. This action is part of an ongoing effort to enforce environmental laws aimed at ensuring a cleaner and more orderly capital territory.

The offenses included improper waste disposal along Nnebisi Road and non-compliance with environmental regulations by businesses such as Turner Bakery. Patrick Ukah, the Director General of the agency, emphasized the commitment to prosecuting offenders to uphold environmental standards.

He warned that the agency would intensify its efforts to rid the capital territory of environmental infractions and urged residents and business operators to maintain clean premises in compliance with sanitation standards. The agency remains dedicated to ensuring adherence to urban regulations and will not show leniency towards those violating environmental laws.
