Isoko North Residents Demand Revocation of Road Contract

Residents of Isoko North in Delta State are protesting the prolonged delays and poor execution of the Isoko Ring Road project, which spans 24 kilometers. Led by Cyril Jeke, the community is calling for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to revoke the contract awarded to Dora Dan Global Resources.

The project, initially scheduled for completion in December 2022, remains largely incomplete, causing significant hardship for residents, particularly as the rainy season approaches. Despite multiple interventions from the state government, including a fact-finding visit by the Deputy Governor in March 2025 and strategic meetings in June 2025, no meaningful progress has been made.

Jeke accused the contractor of lacking the capacity to deliver the project, which has severely affected local economic activities and access to essential services. The community urges the governor to terminate the existing contract and re-award it to a more capable contractor, emphasizing the need for urgent action to alleviate their plight.
