Delta North Youth Coalition Opposes Okowa's Senate Bid

A coalition of youth in Delta North has firmly rejected the senatorial ambitions of former Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, citing serious corruption allegations amounting to N1.3 trillion filed against him with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

During a press briefing held in Agbor, leaders from the Pan Senatorial Youth Movement, including Benjamin Atagama and Ofochi Kingslei Kainehi, expressed concerns over Okowa's continued influence in the political landscape of Delta North. They criticized the political control exerted by Okowa and his family, particularly highlighting the public office held by his daughter, Marilyn Okowa Daramola.

The coalition called for the creation of opportunities for younger politicians and warned against any opposition to their stance. They urged Okowa to step aside from partisan politics until he clears his name and to demonstrate faith in the judiciary.

The coalition emphasized their commitment to independent action, free from political interests, to ensure the democratic future of Delta North.
