APC Alleges Attacks on Members Post-Election in Osun

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) condemned alleged attacks on its members and supporters in Iree, Boripe Local Government Area, after Governor Ademola Adeleke was declared the winner of the August 15 governorship election. In a statement signed by Kola Olabisi, the APC's Director of Media and Information, the party claimed that suspected members of the Accord attacked APC supporters, resulting in at least 10 individuals being critically injured and several properties destroyed.

The statement identified victims including Ige Kayode, Oyeniyi Segun, Oladosu Yinka, Sobalaje Ibraheem, and Peter Korede Adejare, who have been receiving medical treatment since the incidents occurred. The APC alleged that the major motor park in Iree was demolished and that some members were pressured to implicate APC leaders during questioning at the traditional ruler's palace.

A petition regarding the incidents was submitted to Osun State Commissioner of Police Ibraheem Gotan. The APC called for investigations and prosecution of those responsible, emphasizing that political differences should not justify violence.
