Mowe-Ofada Road's Poor Condition Disrupts Commuters

Residents and commuters along the Mowe-Ofada Road in Mowe, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, have voiced their grievances regarding the road's deplorable condition, which has remained unresolved for over eight years. The incomplete road project has disrupted local businesses and increased transportation fares.

A tricycle rider, Amadu, noted that maintenance costs have risen due to the road's poor state. Businessman Idris Lawal claimed that offers from private individuals to repair the road were rejected by local government officials.

Another businessman, Mr Tayo, mentioned that the road floods during rain, further complicating access for customers. Resident Femi echoed these concerns, stating that heavy rains exacerbate the flooding issue.

Attempts to reach local government chairman Lanre Obafemi and the special adviser to the governor on information and strategy, Kayode Akinmade, for comments were unsuccessful as their calls went unanswered.
