Deputy Speaker Urges Media to Highlight Nigeria's Potentials

During the inauguration of the newly elected executive of the House of Representatives Press Corps in Abuja, Deputy Speaker Gloria Essien charged the media to focus on showcasing Nigeria's potentials rather than only highlighting challenges faced by the government. She emphasized the need for the media to promote national unity and cohesion.

Mr. Kalu advised that the House of Representatives Press Corps serves as a vital voice for the legislature, urging its members to report responsibly and promote the nation positively. Akin Rotimi Jr., Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, praised Speaker Tajudeen Abba for promoting transparency and granting the media unrestricted access to House proceedings.

He described the parliamentary press as a crucial partner in strengthening democracy and urged journalists to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and fairness in their profession.
