House of Representatives Probes Alleged PFIPC Corruption

The House of Representatives in Nigeria will commence an investigation today into allegations of corruption involving the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and its Director General, Adeniyi Adeyemi. This follows ongoing investigations by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the police.

The ad hoc committee, chaired by Hon. Yusuf Gagdi of the APC from Plateau, was constituted last Wednesday.

The committee aims to determine whether the agency's activities compromised the federal budget. The public hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM in Room 028 of the House of Representatives' new building in Abuja.

Relevant ministries, departments, agencies, and civil society organizations have been invited to submit memoranda. Additionally, President Bola Tinubu directed the ICPC to investigate the allegations against Adeyemi, who is also facing legal issues, including a defamation suit filed by Femi Gbajabiamila for N15 billion.
