ICPC Uncovers Fake Agencies Linked to PFIPC Director

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has submitted an interim report regarding the activities of Adeniyi Matthew Adeyemi, the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). The report, presented by ICPC Chairman Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, reveals the existence of two additional fake agencies operated by Adeyemi: the FCT Investment Promotion Agency (PIFA) and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (PIPA).

These agencies were established using forged legislative instruments to facilitate illegal activities, including opening bank accounts. The report states that Adeyemi was never appointed by the federal government and that the PFIPC lacked legal establishment.

It also indicates that Adeyemi forged his appointment letter and misappropriated resources from the former Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC). The ICPC recommends prosecuting Adeyemi and imposing sanctions on public officers who collaborated with him, with ongoing investigations expected to uncover further details.
