Nigerian Troops Disrupt Terrorist Networks, Rescue Victims

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) announced that Nigerian troops have made significant strides in disrupting terrorist networks across the country. Major General Michael Omoja reported that operations have intensified, particularly against Boko Haram and ISWAP remnants in the northeast.

Over a recent period, ten family members of terrorists surrendered in Gwoza and Pulka, while several suspects, including a foreign spy, were arrested in Borno State. Troops also rescued numerous abducted victims, including Usman Hassan, who was kidnapped in Bauchi State in April, and Aisha Moham, along with six civilians near Armuda Bridge in Gwoza.

In Zamfara and Kebbi states, troops arrested collaborators and neutralized three terrorists, rescuing 13 civilians. Operations in Niger and Kwara states led to the recovery of weapons and the arrest of suspects linked to attacks in Plateau State.

The DHQ also reported the rescue of two abducted students and the dismantling of illegal refining sites in River State. General Olufemi Oluyede commended the troops for their dedication and successful operations.
