Nigeria-US Joint Operations Eliminate Over 200 Terrorists

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) of Nigeria announced that joint counter-terrorism operations conducted by the Nigerian military in collaboration with the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) have led to the deaths of over 200 terrorists in the North-East region. Major General Samaila Uba, the Director of Defence Information, disclosed that the operations were coordinated to eliminate several high-value terrorist commanders involved in insurgent activities across the region.

The operations were characterized by combined intelligence sharing and surveillance, which assisted in precise military actions aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and degrading their operational capabilities. The partnership between the Nigerian military and US forces has significantly disrupted the activities of insurgent groups in the region.

This disclosure comes amid intensified military operations against insurgent elements that have plagued the North-East for over a decade, causing widespread violence and insecurity.
