Nigeria's Military Neutralizes 662 Terrorists in Q2 2026

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) of Nigeria unveiled a toll-free emergency line, 193, to encourage citizens to report security threats. During the second quarter of 2026, the Armed Forces of Nigeria neutralized 662 terrorists and arrested 1,084 criminal elements.

They also rescued 951 kidnapped civilians and recorded the surrender of 39 insurgents. The military's operations from April to June 2026 included significant achievements, such as the rescue of 360 civilians and the dismantling of 12 illegal refining sites.

Notably, on June 6, 2026, troops neutralized 129 terrorists and arrested 486 suspects. High-profile arrests included that of Hafsatu Alh Bello, the wife of a notorious terrorist kingpin.

The military emphasized adherence to international humanitarian law while conducting operations and urged the public to provide credible information to support ongoing military efforts.
