DHQ and AFRICOM Eliminate 20 ISIS Terrorists in Nigeria

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) of Nigeria, in collaboration with the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), conducted air strikes that resulted in the elimination of over 20 ISIS and ISWAP terrorists in the North-East region, specifically in Borno State.

This operation was part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts following intelligence reports indicating the movement of terrorist elements in the area. Major General Samaila Uba, the Director of Defence Information, disclosed that the precise strikes were aimed at identified targets and were successful in neutralizing these threats.

This latest offensive is part of a broader strategy to dismantle terrorist networks and remove safe havens for insurgents, reaffirming the commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to defend the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity against armed threats. Uba emphasized that there will be no safe haven for terrorists anywhere in Nigeria and assured citizens that military operations against insurgent groups will continue with sustained intensity.
