Nigeria, US Forces Eliminate 20 ISWAP Fighters in Airstrike

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) of Nigeria reported that Nigerian troops, in collaboration with the United States Africa Command, killed over 20 fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a coordinated airstrike in the general area of Metel, Northeast Nigeria. This operation was executed following intelligence reports regarding the movement of terrorist elements in the region.

Major General Samaila Uba, the Director of Defence Information, stated that this military strike is part of sustained operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and denying insurgents safe havens in the country. The airstrike was successful in eliminating the ISWAP fighters and is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and prevent insurgents from regrouping.
