Tobi Amusan Finishes Fourth at 2026 Diamond League Final

At the 2026 Wanda Diamond League Final held in Brussels, Belgium, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan finished fourth in the women’s 100 metres hurdles, recording a time of 12.54 seconds. The race was won by American Olympic champion Masai Russell, who claimed victory with a time of 12.20 seconds, securing the Diamond League Trophy.

Amusan's time was identical to that of the Netherlands’ Nadine Visser, who placed fifth, with officials determining their positions through a photo finish. Despite her strong performance, Amusan did not reach the podium, highlighting the competitive nature of the event.

This race featured eight top hurdlers and marked a significant test for Amusan at the end of the 2026 season. Russell's win capped an impressive Diamond League campaign, having previously set a new world record of 12.09 seconds just days before in Zurich, breaking Amusan's former record of 12.12 seconds.

Amusan has been a dominant figure in the sport, winning the Diamond League 100m hurdles title three consecutive times from 2021 to 2023.
