Diego Simeone Supports Ademola Lookman Ahead of Match
Diego Simeone, the head coach of Atletico Madrid, has publicly backed Ademola Lookman to return to his best form as the team prepares for a match against Manchester United. Lookman, a Nigerian winger who joined Atletico from Atalanta in January, has faced challenges in his performance for both club and country.
Despite a promising start, his form has dipped, culminating in a disappointing international break. Simeone acknowledged that Lookman has not met the club's expectations, having contributed 10 goals and four assists in 33 appearances since his arrival.
The coach's comments indicate that the club remains supportive of Lookman, focusing on providing him with the necessary space and confidence to rediscover the form that made him a sought-after player in Europe. Lookman recently had a poor performance during Atletico's 2-1 La Liga victory over Deportivo Alaves, where he struggled and had to be substituted.
