Former Nigerian Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke Faces Trial for Lavishing N4bn in London Luxury Store

Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum Resources, is currently on trial in a London court for allegedly spending over N4 billion in a luxury store in London using US funds. The prosecution claims that she benefited from lucrative contracts awarded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and indulged in a lavish lifestyle, including owning high-end properties and luxury goods.

Alison-Madueke is accused of accepting bribes and engaging in corrupt practices in the oil and gas industry between 2011 and 2015. The trial also involves other oil executives like Kolawole Aluko, Olajide Omokore, Olatimbo Ayinde, and Doyin Agama, who are facing charges related to bribery and corruption.

The prosecution alleges that Alison-Madueke used funds from companies like Tenka Limited and Atlantic Energy to finance her extravagant lifestyle. The trial is expected to last for 12 weeks.
