Diri Approves Land for Zone 16 Police Command Headquarters in Yenagoa

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has approved the allocation of land for the construction of the Nigeria Police Zone 16 Command headquarters in Yenagoa. The approval was given during a courtesy visit by the newly posted Assistant Police AIG Johnson Adenola and Commissioner of Police Francis Idu.

Governor Diri directed the Ministry of Lands and Survey to work closely with the command to provide a suitable site in the state capital. The Zone 16 headquarters in Yenagoa oversees Bayelsa and Rivers States, and the governor highlighted that this move would significantly boost security in the state.

AIG Adenola also expressed his commitment to effective policing and partnership with the state government to ensure peace and tranquillity. Governor Diri emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering and technology in crime prevention, and praised the efforts of his administration in deploying security strategies, including CCTV cameras and drone surveillance.
