Dispatch Rider Killed in Lagos Truck Collision

On Saturday, a dispatch rider was fatally injured in a multiple road traffic accident in Ijesha, Lagos, involving two trucks: a FAW truck with registration number T-30364LA and an Iveco truck with registration number KSF 958 XV. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), through its Permanent Secretary Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, reported that the accident was caused by reckless driving and wrongful road use by both truck drivers.

The FAW truck collided with the Iveco truck while both were contending for the right of way, resulting in the Iveco truck striking the dispatch rider from behind. The Nigeria Police Force from Okota Division evacuated the deceased's remains for identification and necessary procedures.

LASEMA moved the trucks to prevent further obstruction and ensure traffic flow. Oke-Osanyintolu expressed condolences to the deceased's family and reiterated the government's commitment to road safety, urging commercial drivers to adhere to traffic regulations.
