Disu Advocates for Enhanced Suspect Data Management in Police

Olatunji Disu, the Inspector General of Police, called for improved suspect data management within the Nigeria Police Force to enhance crime investigation and prevention efforts. During a workshop held at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, he emphasized the need for accurate capture and management of suspect information as part of ongoing efforts to modernize criminal investigations across Nigeria.

The workshop, organized by the Department of Information and Communication Technology, highlighted the significance of a crime database in gathering evidence-based intelligence and facilitating inter-agency collaboration. Disu noted that modern policing increasingly relies on accurate data for timely action and that the establishment of a crime database is vital for tracking criminal trends and identifying repeat offenders.

He urged strict compliance with the procedures for capturing suspect information across all commands and encouraged active participation in developing practical solutions to enhance operational efficiency within the force.
