Enugu's Anti-Crime Initiatives Praised by IGP Tunji Disu

Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu praised the Enugu State Government, led by Governor Peter Mbah, for its sophisticated anti-crime initiatives, particularly the establishment of a command control center designed to enhance surveillance and security throughout the state. During a tour of the facility, which coincided with the inauguration of a DNA forensic crime investigation center, Disu expressed surprise at the advanced security infrastructure in place.

He noted that the command control center allows for extensive monitoring capabilities, enabling officials to observe activities across the state, including remote areas up to 30 kilometers away. Disu emphasized the importance of such facilities in ensuring no area remains ungoverned.

He also commended the state's distress response squad and the special police unit, which operates 150 security vehicles equipped with AI-enabled cameras linked to the command control center. Disu's remarks highlight the potential for other states in Nigeria to emulate Enugu's successful security strategies.
