DIG Onwuemelie Advocates Unified Security Operations in Southeast

On October 23, 2023, Deputy Inspector General of Police Kenechukwu Onwuemelie conducted an operational visit to Imo State as part of a strategic assessment tour of the Southeast geopolitical zone, directed by Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu. During his visit, he met with the State Commissioner of Police, Audu Garba Bosso, and addressed senior officers at the command.

Onwuemelie emphasized the necessity for a unified approach among security agencies to effectively reduce crime and enhance security in the region. He urged officers to remain committed to their constitutional responsibilities of protecting lives and property.

He also highlighted the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to adopting modern crime-fighting technologies, including artificial intelligence and drones, to improve intelligence gathering and proactive policing. Additionally, Onwuemelie visited traditional rulers to solicit their support in promoting peace and security within their communities.
