Atiku Urges FBI to Release Tinubu's Public Records

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to release any records concerning President Bola Tinubu that can legally be made public. This demand follows the FBI's request to a United States District Court in Washington, DC, seeking permission to submit confidential explanations for withholding certain records linked to its investigations into Tinubu.

The FBI claimed that disclosing specific information could endanger individuals and compromise protected investigative interests. However, Atiku rejected this rationale, asserting that the FBI could still protect sensitive information while making other records available.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku emphasized the right of the public to access information about those in power, stating that protecting the truth should not be sacrificed. He argued that Nigerians are already suffering from poor governance and deserve transparency regarding their leaders.
