Donnarumma Burglary: Mastermind Jailed for 9 Years

The Paris Criminal Court sentenced Ilyas Kherbouch, 21, to nine years in prison and fined him €80,000 for his role as the mastermind in a violent burglary at the Paris home of Manchester City and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in July 2025. During the incident, Donnarumma was assaulted, and his pregnant partner, Alessia Elefante, was choked with a cable.

The attack had severe consequences, leading to Elefante suffering a miscarriage attributed to the trauma. Co-defendant Moktar D. received a five-year sentence, with two years suspended and a probation period.

A third defendant, Khyan M., was acquitted despite allegations of orchestrating the robbery while in prison. Prosecutors had sought prison terms ranging from four to ten years, requesting the maximum for Kherbouch, who had previously escaped from Villepinte prison.

The case underscores growing security concerns for high-profile footballers in France.
