Church Refunds N1.64m Mistaken Transfer After Viral Appeal

Sandra Okpara, a single mother of two, mistakenly transferred N1,640,200 into an account associated with Pastor Jerry Eze's Streams of Joy International. After realizing the error, she posted a video appeal on social media, stating the funds were not hers and asking for assistance in tracing the money.

Okpara had initially made a N1,000 transfer as an offering before inadvertently sending the larger amount. After failing to recover the funds through Zenith Bank and Moniepoint, she turned to social media for help.

The church, upon seeing her video, contacted her and confirmed the transaction after an investigation. They refunded the money back to her account at approximately 6:22 am the following day.

Okpara confirmed the refund and expressed gratitude, emphasizing her intention was not to harm the church's reputation but to seek help.
