Palace Warns Eradiri Against Misleading Claims on Niger Delta

The palace of King Ateke Michael Tom of Okochiri Kingdom issued a statement cautioning Udeng Eradiri, the former president of the Ijaw Youth Council, against making misleading claims that could incite tension in the Niger Delta. The statement, signed by the special assistant on media, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, responded to a recent video released by Eradiri, which allegedly contained unfounded accusations regarding the palace's involvement in discussions about pipeline surveillance contracts.

The palace emphasized its commitment to neutrality and fostering dialogue for peace and development in the region. Ogbonna refuted Eradiri's claims, asserting that they were driven by personal interests and aimed at pleasing sponsors rather than promoting unity.

The palace remains open to constructive engagement and cautioned Eradiri to refrain from making reckless statements that undermine the dignity of the royal institution.
