Traditional Worshippers Urge Peace Ahead of Osun Election

On August 15, 2023, traditional worshippers in Osun State addressed the upcoming governorship election, with Dr. Oluseyi Atanda, president of the Ifa Divination Association, leading the discussion.

Atanda stated that the election should not result in bloodshed, despite concerns over the current violence in the region. He referenced Odu Ifa Idinyeku Chapter 63, advising that prayers and supplications to Olodumare could help prevent terrorist incursions in the southwest of Nigeria.

Atanda urged royal fathers to support candidates respectfully and warned against making the election a matter of life and death. He called for unity among citizens, highlighting the importance of prayer while also encouraging active participation in the electoral process.

The traditional worshippers emphasized that faith and collective action are essential to overcoming the challenges faced during the election period.
