DSS Rescues Abducted Man, Neutralizes Kidnappers in Imo

The Department of State Services (DSS), in collaboration with other security forces and local vigilantes, successfully rescued a 29-year-old man who had been abducted by suspected kidnappers in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State. The victim was taken last Tuesday near Afor-Ogidi Market in Isiala Amaifeke Community while returning home from the International Market, Umuna, Orlu.

The kidnappers, armed with assault rifles and using two motorcycles, blocked the victim's vehicle and demanded a ransom of N15 million from his family. In a coordinated intelligence-led operation on Thursday morning, security operatives rescued the victim in Ihioma Community, Orlu LGA.

The operation resulted in the neutralization of two suspected members of the kidnapping syndicate, and two high-caliber weapons along with ammunition were recovered. The rescued victim was secured by the security forces and reunited with his family, showcasing the ongoing collaboration among security agencies to combat criminal activities and dismantle kidnapping networks.
