Michael Eric to Host Basketball Camp in Lagos

Michael Eric, the assistant captain of D’Tigers, is set to hold a basketball camp in Lagos starting July 24, organized by the Erico Sport Legacy Foundation, a non-profit established to honor his late father, Joe Eric, a former Super Eagles goalkeeper and assistant coach. The camp, named the Top 50 Elite Basketball Camp, aims to create opportunities for young Nigerians who lack access to similar platforms.

Eric, who grew up in Mushin, Lagos, emphasized the importance of mentorship and life skills beyond basketball. The camp will bring together 50 young players from various academies across the country, with the goal of identifying standout talent and exposing them to international standards.

Participants will receive training sessions, and the foundation will provide 200 pairs of shoes and jerseys. The best athletes will be considered for sponsorship trials with European clubs.

Chris Nomigo will lead the technical team, focusing on creating an enjoyable and impactful experience for the participants.
