Young Talents Shine at D’Tigers Basketball Camp in Lagos

On Thursday, Michael Eric, assistant captain of D’Tigers, hosted a Top 50 elite basketball camp in Lagos, organized by the Erico Sports Legacy Foundation, which he established in memory of his late father, Joe Erico. The camp attracted 50 young players and coaches from various academies across Nigeria, aiming to identify standout talents and expose them to international standards.

Participants engaged in drills and training sessions, with the foundation providing gear such as shoes and jerseys. The best two or three athletes identified will be considered for sponsorship or trials with clubs in Europe.

Gbenga Jetawo, the foundation’s programme director, noted that the camp exceeded expectations, having trained over 1,000 children in five years, funded solely by Eric. Head coach Chris Nomigo praised the energetic atmosphere and the kids' performance, emphasizing the foundation's commitment to both education and sports development.
