Saraki Discusses Kwara Security Challenges on Channel TV

In an interview with Channel TV on Thursday night, Senator Bukola Saraki discussed the security challenges facing Kwara State, particularly the issues of banditry and terrorism affecting West Africa. He acknowledged the seriousness of these problems and expressed condolences to families affected by violence.

Saraki criticized the current administration for not providing adequate support to security agencies, which he claims has left the state vulnerable. He highlighted that Kwara was among the pioneer states to recruit forest guards and emphasized the importance of community resilience in addressing security concerns.

Saraki also contrasted his administration's achievements from 2003 to 2019, including hiring 6,098 basic school teachers and improving health indicators, with the current government's performance. He noted that Kwara State has the lowest child mortality rate in Nigeria according to the latest National Demographic Health Survey.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's recent approval for health insurance for civil servants was also mentioned as a positive step.
