Ebi Egbe Calls for Overhaul of Nigeria Football Leadership

Ebi Egbe, the CEO of Monimichelle Sports Infrastructure Limited, has called for a significant change in the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), currently led by Ibrahim Gusau. He expressed concerns over the state of Nigerian football, highlighting the Super Eagles' failure to qualify for two consecutive FIFA World Cups and the Super Falcons' elimination from the WAFCON 2026 quarterfinals, which also resulted in their failure to secure a spot in the upcoming Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Egbe urged the Chairman of the National Sports Commission not to involve individuals who contributed to the current issues in Nigerian football. He stressed the necessity for new leadership, fresh ideas, and competent professionals to restore the sport's integrity and success.

Egbe believes that Nigerians will resist any attempts to recycle past leaders and insists on sourcing credible stakeholders to help rebuild Nigerian football.
