ECOWAS Receives €18M for Agricultural Growth in West Africa

ECOWAS has received €18 million from the French Development Agency (AFD) to support agricultural growth in West Africa. The funding will be used to implement key projects aimed at transforming the agriculture and livestock sectors in the region.

One project, the West Africa Milk Offens Support Project (PAOLAO), seeks to promote the local milk value chain and increase local milk processing and consumption. Another project, the Platform for Solutions to Support Pastoral Livestock Farming in West Africa (PEPISAO II), aims to enhance social cohesion, climate resilience, and conflict resolution in the region.

The initiatives are part of a broader strategy to boost agriculture and livestock development in West Africa.
