Edo Community Hands Over Man Over Alleged Same-Sex Act

In Upper Ekenwan Community, Egor local government area of Edo State, a man named Destiny Osayomore was apprehended by residents and handed over to the police due to allegations of engaging in same-sex conduct and having connections to a confraternity group. The incident occurred after a private gathering at Osayomore's residence on Faith Lane, where a guest raised concerns about his behavior.

Community spokesman Ogiso Uzi reported that the alarm led to other residents intervening and subsequently taking Osayomore to community leaders before he was handed over to security operatives for investigation. The allegations have caused tension in the area, with Osayomore denying the claims and expressing fears for his safety.

An eyewitness alleged that he was physically assaulted and humiliated prior to being turned over to the police. ASP Eno Ikoedem, spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, confirmed that the matter is under investigation.
