Edo Security Squad Arrests Four Suspected Cultists

The Edo State Special Security Squad, in collaboration with other security agencies, arrested four suspected cultists during a raid on their hideout in Egbaen Community, Ovia North-East Local Government Area, Edo State, in the early hours of Sunday. The operation was led by Saturday Okoh, the Principal Security Officer to Governor Monday Okpebholo.

During the raid, security operatives recovered four locally made pistols, one cut-to-size gun, one Beretta pistol, and a machete. Although the suspects denied ownership of the weapons, they allegedly admitted to being members of the Aiye Confraternity.

Noah Idemudia, the coordinator of the squad, praised the public for providing credible intelligence that facilitated the operation and urged continued cooperation, emphasizing the importance of timely information for the squad's success. He noted that the operation was prompted by intelligence regarding a planned initiation by members of the Black Axe group, which could have led to further criminal activities.
