Edo State Partners with US Investors for Electric Tricycles

Edo State has formed a strategic partnership with US-based Moseri Hold Limited and JBV Manufacturing to establish an electric tricycle manufacturing assembly plant. Hon.

Paul Usenbo, the Commissioner for Power, disclosed this initiative during an interview, emphasizing its role in accelerating industrialization, job creation, and promoting clean transportation in the state. The project aligns with Governor Mondai Okpebholo's economic agenda, which focuses on attracting strategic investments and expanding industrial capacity.

The establishment of the electric mobility company in Edo State aims to manufacture and assemble electric tricycles for the Nigerian market, positioning the state as a hub for clean energy technology and innovative vehicle products. The initiative is expected to reduce dependence on imports, strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities, and support the growth of Nigeria's electric vehicle value chain.

Additionally, it aims to lower production and logistics costs, making electric tricycles more affordable and creating direct and indirect jobs in assembly, maintenance, and service sectors.
