Edo State Partners with US Investors for Electric Tricycles

The Edo State Government has entered into a partnership with US-based Moseri Hold Limited to establish an electric tricycle assembly plant. Hon. Paul Usenbo, the state commissioner for power, announced this development to journalists in Benin City on Friday.

The collaboration is part of efforts to deepen industrialization, create jobs, and advance clean energy transportation in Edo State. The partnership will lead to the establishment of an e-mobility company in Edo that will produce electric tricycles for the local Nigerian market.

This initiative is expected to strengthen the state's position as an emerging center for renewable energy technology and vehicle manufacturing, aligning with the economic vision of Governor Mondai Okpebholo. The project aims to reduce the country's dependence on imported vehicles, lower production and logistics costs, and encourage growth in Nigeria's electric vehicle ecosystem.

Additionally, it is projected to generate employment opportunities in assembly, maintenance, sales, service, warranty operations, and spare parts distribution.
