Edo Security Corps Arrests Four for Solar Battery Theft

The Edo Security Corps arrested four individuals—Muhammed Abubakar, Hamza Ibrahim, Mustafa Muhammed, and Muhammed Ibrahim—over the alleged theft of solar batteries from the shop of Samuel Omotanawa. The arrests occurred after operatives from the Aduwawa Sector Command acted on an intelligence report.

The suspects were intercepted while allegedly trying to sell the stolen batteries to a buyer. According to sources, three of the suspects were directly involved in the theft, while the fourth was an accomplice contacted to purchase the stolen goods.

Corps Commander Richard Balogun confirmed the incident, stating that two solar batteries and a Toyota Yaris, which was used to transport the stolen items, were recovered. The theft reportedly took place in the GRA area, and the suspects were apprehended in Aduwawa, Benin City.

Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
